I have not seen any more of these in Australia.
I was wondering how old it was I do not know weather it is complete or not but all the boxes are present including the motor and box.
can anyone tell me how old this set would be and how rear also an idea of value.

Just a suggestion. To make the marking of pictures more useful, a personal favorites folder giving access to all the pictures one has marked would be very interesting.
Reply: Yes, absolutely that's possible. I will be adding all sorts of stuff to searches and the index pages based on this, but obviously I needed to get the marking working first... |

1964 to 1970 Set 10 came with the red manuals 0/1 (or, latterly, just "1"), 2/3, 4/5/6 and 7/8. These manuals had odd, poor quality paper which was a bit like blotting paper!
In addition, the set came with 10 no 9 special model leaflets (these were re-named set 10 leaftlets 21 to 30 in 1970) and 20 no 10 leaflets of 1954 origin but with updated print codes and, in one or two cases, the E20R motor reset as an E15R motor, the latter having replaced the E20R in 1958.
The manuals come up second hand fairly regularly, although the 7/8 version is harder to find.
The number 10 leaflets are widely photocopied and sold as "reproductions". the number 9 leaflets are now more common as the later, renamed, 10/21 to 30 versions, although they do seem to turn up on ebay and elsewhere with a fair amount of regularity.
I hope this helps! Yellow/black/silver (or zinc) is one of the more uncommon number 10 colours. |

i have a no10 set black yellow blue galve year 64/70
can you tell me what manuals came whith this set if i fail to get originals am i able to get repros
Reply: I believe that the SYB 10-set came with a complete set of manuals, 1, 2/3, 4/5/6, 7/8, a folder containing the 10 models for outfit 9, and a folder containing all 20 models for outfit 10. You can find PDF scans of all these in the manuals gallery. Originals will be expensive (of the 9 and 10 folders) but possible to find on ebay if you're patient. |
