1962-1969 Meccano 6 Model 01 Aircraft carrier a.jpg
Starting today with the first item of the 1962-1969 set 6, I will continue with my tradition of building the models based on the instructions, but making modifications there were, IMHO, they make sense. I do this for two reasons. First, unfortunately very often the instructions have mistakes and "impossibles", corrected by the "Photoshop of that era", i.e. hand retouching the photographs. And second, it makes fun to me. Isn´t it, at the end, all about having fun, by accepting challenges, by applying skills, by fulfilling ideas, by overcoming difficulties, by learning? By the way, if you want to see puristic, faithful as-per-instructions builds of that era, then I recommend you to visit the section of Meccano-fellow David Smith (hats off, David!). Up to the matter! I started building the deck of the carrier, reinforcing its underside with a #7a girder, in order to get things straight.
